Additional Police Officers :– (1) Additional Police Officers of such rank or grade for such time and on such pay, as the Government may determine, may be employed or deputed by the Commissioner for the purposes of this Act. (2) Every Additional Police Officer so appointed shall, on appointment,– (a) receive a certificate of appointment in a form approved by the Government in this behalf; (b) be vested with all or such of the powers, privileges and immunities and perform such of the duties of a police officer as are specially mentioned in the certificate; and (c) be subject to the orders of the Commissioner as an ordinary police officer of the same or similar rank or grade. (3) The employment or deputation of such Additional Police’ Officer may be made at the request of any person requiring such police and the cost of such employment shall, as far as feasible, be realised in advance, and the dues, not paid shall be recovered in such manner as is provided by or under this Act or the rules.
