(1 ) The Government may appoint one or more Deputy Commissioners Addi'iana' or Additional Deputy Commissioners or Assistant Commissioners for the Deputy and Assistant purposes of this Act. Commi- ssioners of Police. (2) Without prejudice lo the other provisions of this Act and subject to any general or special orders made by the ~overnment in this behalf, every Deputy Commissioner or Additional Deputy ~ommiskioner or Assistant Commissianer shall, under the orders of Commissioner, exercise such powers and perform such of the duJies of the Commissioner and within such local limits as may be specified in such orders.
