ln this Act, unless the context otherwise requires- (a) "competent authority" means any person appointed by the Government, by notification, to perform the functions of the competent authority under this Act within such area as may be specified in the notification; (b) "Corporation" means the Orissa State Road Transport Corporation registered under the Road Transport Corporations Act, 1950 ; (c) "Government" means the State Government of Orissa; (d) "Omnibus" has the same meaning as assigned under Clause (18-A) of Section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939; and (e) "owner" includes where the person in possession of Omnibus is a minor the guardian of- such minor and in relation to an Omnibus which is the subject of a hire purchase agreement, the person in possession of the vehicle under that agreement.
