Enhancement of punishment on second conviction. :- Whoever having been previously convicted of an offence punishment under section 7or section 9 is again convicted of an offence under this Act shall be liable to be 1[punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.]
