Membership of the Academic Council.-(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:- (a) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the Chairman thereof; (b) three persons from amongst the eminent educationists or men of letters or members of learned professions, who are not in the service of the University, to be nominated by the Chancellor; (c) one member of the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India to be nominated by the Chairman of the Committee; (d) all Heads of the Department of the University; (e) all the professors other than the Heads of the Department of the University; and (f) two members of the teaching staff, to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor from amongst Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and lecturers of the University in order of seniority in each category by rotation: Provided that such of the Associate Professors or Assistant Professors who have been nominated as members of Executive Council by the Vice-Chancellor, shall not be nominated as members of the Academic Council by the Vice-Chancellor. (2) The terms of office of the members, other than ex-officio members shall be three years. 19
