Additional powers of municipality :– It shall be lawful for a municipality subject to such rules and restrictions as the State Government from time to time may make under this Act to – (1) establish and maintain at such places within its area as it thinks fit, Daka Bungalows and Sarais for the use of travellers and charge such fees for the use of such Bungalows and Sarais as it thinks fit; (2) offer rewards for the destruction of noxious animals and of monkeys within its area; 157 THE ORISSA MUNICIPAL ACT, 1950 (3) establish and maintain fire-brigade; (4) hold within its area from time to time, fairs and exhibitions of cattle, country produce and agricultural implements of local manufacturers and incur such expenditure and charge such fees in connection therewith as it thinks fit; and (5) undertake and carry out any other local work likely to promote the health, comfort or convenience of the public and not otherwise provided for in this Act.
