Personal liability of Councillors :– (1) A person shall be liable for any expenditure made from Municipal Fund contrary to law where such illegal payment has been authorised by him while acting as Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson. 1[* * *] Councillor or Executive Officer. Provided that the State Government may in their discretion for reasons to be stated in writing condone any such illegal payment.
