Powers of Municipality :– (1) The municipality may– (a) lay out and make new public roads; (b) construct bridges and sub-ways; (e) turn, divert or with the special sanction of the State Government permanently close any public road or part thereof; and (d) widen, open, extend or otherwise improve any public road. (2) Reasonable compensation shall be paid to the owners of any land or buildings or part of the building which are required for, or affected by, any such purposes.
