Municipal Fund :– There shall be constituted for each municipality a fund to be called the Municipal Fund and there shall be placed to the credit thereof – (a) all sums received by or on behalf on the municipality under this Act or otherwise; (b) all fines realised on conviction under the provisions of this Act or the Rules or bye-laws made thereunder; or under any other Act or Rules in which provisions is made for the credit of such fines to the Municipal Fund; (c) all sums received on account of fines and unclaimed sale proceeds under the provisions of the Cattle Trespass Act, 1871( 1 of 1871), all or any part of proceeds of the public ferries, fines and compensation received under the provisions of the Northern India Ferries Act, 1878( 17 of 1878), and the Bengal Ferries Act, 1885 (Bengal Act 1 of 1885), and all money received under the Canals and Public Ferries Act, 1880(Madras Act 1 of 1880), which are received within the municipality and are payable to the municipality under the said provisions of the said Act; and (d) the balance, if any, standing at the credit of the Municipal Fund at the commencement of this Act.
