Inspection and stamping of weights and measures :– The Executive Officer of a municipality or any person authorised by him in this behalf may examine and test the weights and measures used in markets and shops in the municipality with a view to the prevention and punishment of offences relating to such weights and measures under Chapter XIII of the Indian Penal Code, XLV of 1860. 1[103-A. Powers of municipality to give direction :– Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, on and after the commencement of the Orissa Municipal (Amendment) Act, 1994,– (a) the exercise of any power of performance or any function by the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, the Executive Officer or any other officer under this Act shall be subject to the direction, if any, as may be given by the Municipality in that behalf; and (b) all orders decisions of the Chairperson or the Vice-Chairperson of a Municipality under the provisions of this Act shall be carried into effect by the Executive Officer of the Municipality and none else.] –––––––– CHAPTER - X BUDGET
