The objective for which the University is established are as follows:- (a) to disseminate advanced knowledge by providing academic and research facilities in such branches of learning which includes Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical and Biological Sciences, Medicine, Management, Law, Indian Culture and Performing Arts, Yoga, Spirituality and Mind- management, Vocational Education and Training, Tribal and Backward Area Development Studies, Social justice and in other fields as it may deem fit; (b) to institute Degrees, Diplomas, Charters, Designations, Certificates and other academic distinctions on the basis of examination or any other method of evaluation; (c) to collaborate with other colleges or Universities, research institutions, industrial associations, professional associations or any other organization, in India or abroad; (d) to promote moral values, human ethics and service orientation, and train exemplary citizens of the country and the world; (e) to innovate, develop and offer holistic spiritual education in the fields of Vedic Sciences, Yogic Sciences, Mind-management, Comparative Religion and Alternative Medicine for physical, mental and intellectual well-being of society; (f) to create new career options for like-minded youth in the field of Vedic Sciences, Yogic Sciences, and Mind-management and make them fit enough to act as Cultural Ambassadors of India abroad. To train brilliant, dynamic and service-oriented teachers in these fields, with the potential of conducting classes for corporate houses, industries, educational institutions and the general public; (g) to promote and propagate Alternative Medicinal systems, such as Naturopathy and Ayurveda, through education, research, cultivation of indigenous herbs and organic farming; (h) to establish an ideal of a socially responsible and responsive University, by conducting health camps, opening hospitals, blood- Objects of the University. 11 banks, old-age homes, schools, and other humanitarian institutions in the Tahasil of Damapada, and later in other parts of the State of Odisha, with the approval of the Government, for the alleviation of poverty of the masses, both material and spiritual; (i) to conduct Executive Development programs, Health Camps, Yoga Retreats, Mind-management Workshops, Exhibitions, for physical, mental and spiritual upliftment of the society; (j) to develop a Centre for Continuing Education for the benefit of women, the disabled and those who cannot undergo the regular courses; (k) to run job-oriented certificate and diploma courses; (l) to undertake inter-disciplinary studies with respect to Humanities, Sciences, Technology and in other fields; (m) to function as a learning resource centre; (n) to provide opportunities for sharing of knowledge by conducting national level and international level conferences and seminars; (o) to open offices, centres, and educational institutes in India and abroad, with the approval of the Government, for effectively implementing any of the above; (p) to conceptualize, design and develop specific educational and research programmes, training programmes and exchange programmes for students, faculty members and others; (q) to establish the following schools of the University, namely:- (i) School of Religious Studies; (ii) School of Health Sciences; (iii) School of Fine Arts; (iv) School of Languages; (v) School of Humanities; (vi) School of Business Studies; (vii) School of Engineering; (viii) School of Basic Sciences; and 12 (ix) Subject to the approval of the State Government, any other School as it may deem fit; (r) to disseminate knowledge through seminars, conferences, executive education programmes, community development programmes, publications and training programmes; (s) to undertake programmes for the training and development of faculty members of the University and other Institutions in India and abroad; (t) to undertake collaborative research with any other organization in India or abroad; (u) to create higher levels of intellectual abilities; (v) to provide consultancy to industry, Government and Public Organizations; (w) to ensure that the standard of the degrees, diplomas, charters, certificates and other academic distinctions are not lower than those laid down by the University Grants Commission and other Regulatory Bodies, as the case may be; (x) to do all things necessary or expedient to promote the above objectives; and (y) to pursue any other objective as may be approved by the State Government.
