Levy of water cess :– In addition to or in lieu of the water rates payable under the provisions of this Act, the State Government may, levy a water cess at such rates and in such manner as shall be prescribed by the State Government from time to time: 3[Provided that no water cess shall be levied in addition to the compulsory basic water rate.]
