Procedure for entering into Contract :– With respect to the mak- ing of contracts the following provisions subject to the rules, if any, made in that behalf have effect, namely : (a) every such contract shall be made on behalf of the Grama Sasan by the Sarpanch; (b) on such contract for any periods which in accordance with any provision of this Act, the Sarpanch may not carry out without the approval or sanction of any authority specified in the Act or the rules made thereunder shall be made by him until and unless such approval or sanction be obtained; (c) no contract for the acquisition of immovable property shall be valid unless the contract has been approved by the prescribed authority where the price stipulated to be paid for such prop- erty exceeds the prescribed amount.
