Punishment for wrongful seizure :– Any Forest Officer or Police Officer who vexatiously or frivolously seizes any property on pretence of seizing property liable to confiscation under this Act or vexatiously or frivolously arrests any person under Section 68 4[for kindling, keeping or carrying any fire in the reserved forest, or for kindling any fire or leaving any fire burning in any forest land notified under Section 4, or for any other forest offence] shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year 5[and with fine] which may extend to one thousand rupees 6[****]
