Short title, extent and commencement – (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Communal, Forest and Private Lands (Prohibition of Alienation) Act, 1948. (2) It extends to the whole of the 1[State] of Orissa except the district of Sambalpur. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1946.
