(1) The Academic Council of the University shall consist of the following members, namely: (i) the Vice-Chancellor of the University who shall be the ex- officio Chairman; (ii) two academicians to be nominated by the Board; (iii) two external academicians or professionals in the areas of public health, allied health and of science and technology or other fields to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; (iv) two Deans from any discipline of the University, by rotations, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; and (v) one Professor from any discipline of the University, by rotation, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor. (2) The Registrar shall be the non-member Secretary of the Council. (3) An outgoing member shall be eligible for re-nomination. (4) The term of office of the members other than the ex-officio member shall be three years.
