Establishment of Market Committee :– The State Government shall establish a Market Committee for every market area in respect of the agricultural produce for which the said area is declared to be a market area under Section 4. It shall be the duty of the Market Committee to enforce the provisions of this Act, and the rules and bye- laws made thereunder and the conditions of the licence granted under Sub-section (3) of Section 4 in such market area and within such distance thereof as may be specified in the notification under Subsection (1) of Section 4 and, when so required by the State Government, to establish a market therein providing for such facilities as the State Government, may from time to time direct in connection with the purchase and sale of the agricultural produce concerned.
