On and from the appointed day— (a) in article 210, in the proviso to clause (2) , for the words “Legislature of the State of Himachal Pradesh”, the words “Legislatures of the States of Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura” shall be substituted; (b) in article 239A, in clause (1) , the words “Manipur, Tripura,” shall be omitted; (c) in article 244,— (i) in clause (1) , for the words “the State of Assam”, the words “the States of Assam and Meghalaya” shall be substituted; (ii) in clause (2) , for the words “the State of Assam”, the words “the States of Assam and Meghalaya and the Union territory of Mizoram” shall be substituted; (d) in article 244A, in clause (1) , for the word and letter “Part A”, the word and figure “Part I” shall be substituted; (e) in article 275, in clause (a) of the second proviso to clause (1) , for the word and letter “Part A”, the word and figure “Part I” shall be substituted; (f) in article 332,— (i) in clause (5) , the words “except in the case of the constituency comprising the cantonment and municipality of shillong” shall be omitted; (ii) in clause (6) , the words “except from the constituency comprising the cantonment and municipality of Shillong” shall be omitted; (g)in article 371B, for the word and letter “Part A”, the word and figure “Part I” shall be substituted; (h)in the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution, in paragraph 1, for the words “State of Assam”, the words “States of Assam and Meghalaya” shall be substituted; (i) the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution shall stand amended as directed in the Eighth Schedule.
