(1) Whoever contravenes any of the provisions of Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18, 21, and 22 shall on conviction be punishable with fine which for a first offence may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees and for a second or any subsequent offence may extend to five hundred rupees. (2) Whoever contravenes any of the provisions of Sections 7, 19, 20, 28 and 30 shall, on conviction be punishable with fine which may exceed to fifty rupees. (3) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act or any rule or order made there under unless the complaint is made (a) by the employee of an establishment either by himself or through the union of which he is a member within three months from the date on which the offence is alleged to have been committed; or (b) by the inspection within six months from the date on which the alleged offence comes to his knowledge. (4) No court inferior to that of Judicial Magistrate of the first class shall try any offence punishable under this Act or any rUles or orders made thereunder.
