Composition of offences: (1) The prescribed authority may accept from any person accused of an offence under this Act a sum of money not exceeding five thousand rupee, by way or composition for such offence and may out of the money so received compensate the person against whom the offence has been committed to the extend the prescribed authority deems reasonable. (2) On the conlposition of the offence, no further proceeding in respect thereof shall be talcen against the accused and if any proceeding has already been instituted against him in any court, the composition shall have the effect ofacquittal PART VII MISCELLANEOUS
