Penalty for false statement- If any person required to make a statement under this Act willfully makes a false statement or suppresses a material fact with an intention to mislead the prescribed authority, he shall be liable to punishment with imprisonment, for a term which may extend to three months or with fine not exceeding Rs 1000 or with both.
