Power to dispose of land.- Subject to such rules, as may be made under this Act, a Municipality may retain, lease, sell, exchange or otherwise dispose of any land vested in, or acquired by it under this Chapter which is no longer required for a scheme framed under this Chapter. Chapter IV Markets and Slaughter Houses 387.Provisions of municipal markets and slaughter houses.- The Chief Officer of a Municipality, when so authorized by the Municipality in this behalf, may provide and maintain in the Municipal area of the Municipality, municipal markets, slaughter houses or stockyards in such number, as he thinks fit together with stalls, shops, sheds, pens and other buildings conveniences for the use of persons 433 carrying on trade or business in, or frequenting such markets or slaughter houses and may provide and maintain in any such markets, buildings and places, machines, weights, scales and measures for the weighment or measurement of goods sold therein.
