Section 315

Permission of projection in certain cases.- The Municipality may give permission, on such terms and on payment of such fee, as it thinks fit, to the owner or occupier of the building in a street.- a. to erect an arcade, over such street or any portion thereof, or b. to put up a verandah, balcony, arch. connecting passage, sun shade, weather frame, canopy, lawning or other such structure of things projecting from any storey over across any street or portion thereof. provided that the Municipality may at any time by a written notice require the owner or occupier of any building to remove a verandah, balcony, sun shade, weather frame or the like put up in accordance with the provisions of any law for the time being in force and such owner or occupier shall be bound to take action accordingly and he shall also be entitled to reasonable compensation for the loss caused to him by such removal and the cost incurred therein.
