Power to provide meter,- (1) The Chief Officer of a Municipality may, provide a water-meter and attach the same to the supply pipe in the premises connected with the service mains of the Municipality. (2) The expenses of providing and attaching a meter under sub-sectionk (1) shall be paid out of the Municipal Fund of the Municipality and the consumer shall be charged rent for the same.
