Redemption of pledge: (1) Notwithstanding any agreement between the pawnbroker and the pawner that a pledge shall be redeemed within a specified period which is less than one year, it shall be lawful of the pawner to redeem the pledge within one year &om the date of pawning exclusive of that day, and there shall be added to that year of redemption seven days of grace within which every pledge shall continue to be redeemable. (2) where the contract between the pawner provides a period longer than one year for redemption there shall be added to such period of redemption seven days of grace within which the pledge shall continue to be redeemable. (3) if a pledge is not redeemed before the expiry of the period of redemption andthe days of grace, the pledge, the pledge shall be disposed of by the pawnbroker in accordance with the provisions of Section 14.
