(a) There shall be paid a family person at the rate of fifty percent of the pension in a manner provided hereunder and as may be further prescribed in this behalf. (i) If a deceased ex-member or pensioner leaves behind a window or a widower, the family pension shall become payable to the widow or widower, failing which to the eligible child. (ii) If sons and unmarried daughters are alive, unmarried daughters shall not be eligible for family pension, unless the sons attain the age of twenty five years and thereby become ineligible for the grant of family pension. (iii) Where family pension is granted under this rule to a minor, it shall be payable to the guardian on behalf of the minor. (b) Notwithstanding what is provided in clause (a) above, no member of the family who is a government servant shall be paid a family pension.
