Compounding of offences: . - (i) Water Users' Association may accept fiom any person who committed or in respect to whom areasonable belief can be inferred that he has committed an offence punishable underthis~ct ofthe rules made thereunder, as- of -657- money not exceeding Rupees two thousand by way of compounding of such offence. i On payment of such sum of money, the saidperson, ifin custody, I shall be discharged and no M e r proceeding shall be taken against him in regard to the offences so compounded.
