The Deputy Commissioner shall, for the purpose of any inquiry under this Act, have the sa me powers as are vested in a civil court under the Code of Civil procedure, 1008 while trying a suit, in respect of the Following matters, namely (a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of an person and examining him on oath; (b) recurring the discovery and production of documents and (c) any other matter which may he prescribed Appeal.
