Prohibition of use of word Co-operative and Penalty. 1) No person other than a Co-operative Society registered under this Act shall, without the permission of the State Government function, trade or carry on business under any name or title of which the word 'Co- operative' or its equivalent in any Indian languages from a part. (2) Every person who is a member of a Co-operative Society formed in contravention of Section 4 and section 6 of this Act and every person contravening the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable with a fine of not less than five thousand rupees or as the Registrar deem fits for and in the case of a continuing offence with further fine of five hundred rupees for each month on which the offence is continued after conviction thereof.
