Term of the office of 'Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Members. (1.) The Chairperson. Vice-chairperson and elected Member shall, save as otherwise provided in this Act, hold office for term of 5 years from the day of assuming the office or till the continuation of Market Committee, whichever is earlier. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section( I), a person who is a nominated Member of Mar1et Committee by virtue of being a representative of Cooperative Marketing Society. Aric tilt tire. Horticulture. A'U&V.Sc. Fisheries, and Cooperation department and Town! Municipal Council. as the case may be, shall cease to be such member on his ceasing to be a Member of the managing committee of the Society or Town/Municipal Council concerned by efflux of his term of Office or otherwise, or re-nomination by the department, as the case may be.
