(1) This Act may be called the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Pactices Act, 1969. (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, [by notification], appoint. Came into force on 01/06/1970, vide S.O. 1981, dated 30th May, 1970, published in the Gazette of India, Ext., Pt. II, Section 3(ii), p. 833. Substituted by Act 30 of 1984, Section 2, for "by notification in the Official Gazette" (w.e.f. 01/08/1984).
