In of section 7 of the principal Act, the new sub-section inserted by clause (b) of section 5 of the Lushai Hills District (Village Councils) (Amendment) Act, 1986, as sub-section (9) of section 7 shall be renumbered as sub-section (10) as under: “(10) The Government may remove the President or the Vice President of a Village Council if in his opinion the President or as the case may be, the Vice President has lost support of the majority of members but refuses to tender resignation or it too inefficient or too corrupt to carry on the Village administration or is acting in a manner prejudicial to the interest of the State.
