In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, - on umber “Leader of the Opposition” means a Member of the Assembly who is for the Vol XX Aizawl, Monday 13.5.1991 Vaisakha 23. S.E. 1913 Issue No. 96 Short title and commence- ment Definitions time being the Leader in the Assembly of the party in Opposition to the State Goverment having the greatest numerical strength in the Assembly and recognised by the Speaker as the Leader of the Opposition Party (a) “Leader of the Opposition” means a member of the Assembly who is for the time being the Leader in the Assembly of the Party in the Opposition to the State Government having the greatest numerical strength in the Assembly and recognised by the Speaker as Leader of the Opposition Party. (b) Words and expressions not defined herein and defined in the Salaries and Al- lowances of Minister Act, 1987 meaning respective as are as assigned to therein in that Act.
