Penalty for maliciously giving false information: Any person who maliciously and falsely gives information to any person exercising powers under this Act leading to a search, seizure, detention or arrest shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than one month which may extend to one year or with fine of not less than five hundred rupees which may extend to two thousand rupees or with both.
