Penalty for misconduct by permit holder: Whoever, being the holder of a permit, licence, pass or authorization granted under this Act, or a person in the employment of such holder of permit, licence, pass or authorization, while in transit– (a) fails to produce such permit, licence, pass or authorization on demand by the Excise & Narcotics or Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector and above, or (b) willfully does or omits to do anything in contravention of any rule, or order made under this Act shall be liable to be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than one month which may extend to one year or with fine of not less than two thousand rupees which may extend to ten thousand rupees, or with both. The licence, permit, pass or authorisation of such offender shall be liable for cancellation, by the issuing authority
