Stay of execution of orders (1) A Revenue officer who has passed any order, or in his absence, his successor-in-office, may, at any time before the expiry of the period prescribed for appeal, direct the stay of execution of such order for such period as he thinks fit, provided that no appeal has been filed in the meantime. (2) Any authority before whom a case is pending in appeal or revision may direct the stay of execution of the order appealed from or under revision for such period not exceeding 45 days.
