Sale of immovable property (1) In the opinion of the Collector or the Settlement Officer or the Assistant Settlement Officer the processes referred to in sub-section (1) and (2) of section 57 are not sufficient for the recovery of an arrear, he may, in addition to or instead of any of those processes, cause the land in respect of which such arrear is due to be attached and sold in the manners prescribed in this Act. (2) The Collector or the Settlement Officer or the Assistant Settlement Officer may also cause the right, title and interest of a defaulter in any other immovable property to be similarly attached and sold.
