Terms of Lease (1) The State Government shall specify the term of lease granted to a lease-holder not exceeding ninety-nine years and not shorter than one year as may be prescribed. (2) On expiry of the term of lease the Government or the competent authority, as the case may be, may grant or refuse renewal of the lease and no notice of non-renewal may be required to be given if such renewal is to be refused. (3) Failure to seek renewal of lease after expiry of the tenure, the land lease shall automatically be deemed to be terminated. Even payment of land revenue shall not entitle extension of the lease period. CHAPTER – VII ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF LAND REVENUE, TAXES, FEES, etc.
