(1) An Empowered Committee headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya with representation from other State Government departments including Tourism, Forest & Environment, Home (Police), Transport, Urban Affairs and Public Works, shall be the Licensing Authority having powers to grant licences under this Act. The Chief Inspector of Ropeways shall be the Member Secretary of the Empowered Committee. (2) The composition of the Licensing Authority shall be decided and notified from time to time by the State Government by publication in the Official Gazette.
