The Assam Amusements and Betting Tax Act, 1939, shall stand amended as follows:- Central Act 5 of 1898 1) For the word Assam wherever it occurs, the word Meghalaya shall be substituted; and for the words State Government, Government of Assam, and State Government of Assam wherever they occur, the words Government of Meghalaya shall be substituted 2) For sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 1, the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely:- (2) Is extends to the whole of Meghalaya except Shillong. 3) In section 14, clauses (3A) and (7) shall be omitted. 4) In section 18, sub-sections (3), (4) and (5) shall be omitted.
