(1) At the commencement of this Act, the State Government, shall by notification in the official Gazette, constitute an Authority to be known as the Flood Zoning Authority. (2) The Authority shall consist of such number of members to be appointed by the State Government as may be prescribed by rules for carrying out the purpose of this Act. (3) The Authority and all officers and employees authorised under this Act shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of sub-section (28) of Section 2 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act No. 45 of 2023).
