(1) Every market committee shall elect, in the manner prescribed one of its members to be its Chairman. (2) The Chairman shall exercise such powers and perform such duties on behalf of the committee under this Act and the rules made thereunder as may be prescribed. (3) Whenever for any reason the office of the Chairman of any market committee falls vacant the Board shall appoint any one from amongst the members of such market committee as the Chairman to hold office as such, temporarily, till a Chairman is elected. (4) The Chairman shall preside at every meeting of the market committee and in his absence the member present shall elect one from amongst themselves to preside over that meeting. (5) When a meeting is held for the removal of the Chairman a duly elected at the meeting shall preside over that meeting.
