(1) The State Government may, after consultation with the District Council concerned, by notification, declare its intention of regulating the purchase, sale, or storage of such agricultural produce in such areas as may be specified and such notification shall be published in the manner prescribed: Provided that no such consultation shall be necessary where an area is within the Cantonment and Municipality of Shillong. (2) The notification under sub-section (1) shall state that any objection or suggestion received by the State Government within a period of not less than one month to be specified in the notification under sub-section (1) shall be considered by the State Government.
