Subject · to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes may, :providefor any matter and shall in particular provide for the I ' ,.following::- ' I ' (i)' (ii) (iii) (iv) ' (v) (vi) (vii) the constitution, powers and duties of the authorities of the University; ' ' the appoin?ent,nonrination or election and : continuance: in office· of the members of- the : authorities of the University and .all other , mattersrelatingto these authorities for which it' : . may be necessary, or desirable to provide; I ' the designation, manner, of appointment, . I ' powers, duties and service conditions of the . - officers of the University; ' I the cl?$iligation: and manner of ;appointm?tof teachers and their service conditions ' and qualifications; the constitution .of pension,gratuity,.insurance. and provident funds for the benefit of officers, ?achers ?d other employees of the University; , ' ' I - _! - ' the conferment of honorary degrees; , 1 1 ' - I I the . establishment, amalgamation, sub-division: and abolition of Departments; ' 29 (viii) the establishment and abolition of hostels maintained by the University; (ix) the moneys to form part of and to be paid into the University Fund and the matters to which the Fund may be applied and appropriated; (x) the number and emoluments of teachers of the • University and the preparation and maintenance · of a record of their services and activities; (xi) the remunerations and allowances, including travelling· and daily allowances to be paid to persons employed in the business of the University; and (xii) all other matters which by this Act are· required to be or may be provided for or prescribed otherwise than by the Ordinances o.r · the Regulations.
