.'. (2} The University shall be a body corporate by the 'name aforesaid having perpetual succession and . a common seal with power to contract and may, by the, said name, sue and be sued. I (3) The University shall be competent to· acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer or dispose of .any movable or. immovable property, which . may vest in, or be acquired by it, for the" purposesof the University' and to contract. and do all other things necessary .for the purposes ,of this Act: Provided that. no such lease, sale or transfer of such property shall be without the prior 'approval of the State Government. I ' I The objects of the University shall be for the following purposes, namely: .. (i) to disseminate, create and preserve the knowledge in the field of technical education for the· advancement or mankind. and · understanding by the teaching, training, research.jn general, and in particular.:- (a) to promotetotal quality and cost effectiv; management , of . engineering , technology, management and other technical institutions; (b) to provide a netw?rk of technical 'education in the State to meet the demand of quality technical education and research; (c) to create a system·of management' for technical education based , on the scientific tools of decision making and information system; (ii) to developwork culture · and promotedignity of . labour through , applied' components in the syllabi and to promote entrepreneurship among students so as to make technical education a valid means of job . creations, rather than creating the job seekers; (4) Theheadquarter of the University shall be at Imphal.
