No court inferior to that of a [Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the first class] shall try any offence punishable under this Act or any rule or regulation made thereunder. Subs. by Act 29 of 1974, sec. 34, for "magistrate of the first class" (w.e.f. 15/01/1975).
