Constitution of Subjects Committees.— (1) Subject to the provisions of 1[sections 81 and 83]— 2[ 3[(A)] 4[Agriculture Committee] shall consist of— (i) 5[ten Councillors] 6* * * * elected by the Zilla Parishad from amongst its Councillors; 7* * * * * * * 8* * * * * * * 9[(B)] the Social Welfare Committee shall consist of— (i) 10[nine Councillors] elected by the Zilla Parishad from amongst 11[its Councillors], so however that 12[, subject to availability,] of these,— (a) five shall be reserved for Councillors belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes; and of these five at least two shall be reserved for the Schedule Tribes; (b) 13[four] shall be reserved for Councillors belonging to the 14[Backward Class of citizens]; 15* * * * * * * (ii) two women Councillors elected by the Zilla Parishad from amongst 16[its Women Councillors]. 17* * * * * * * (iii) the Social Welfare Officer of the Zilla Parishad shall be the Secretary, ex-officio, of the Committee.
