( 1 ) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Water Conservation Corporation Act, 2000. ( 2 ) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Maharashtra excluding the notified cantonment and urban areas, but shall cover irrigation project schemes having irrigable command area upto 1 [600] hectares. ( 3 ) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 22 nd August 2000.
