( 1 ) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971. ( 2 ) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra. ( 3 ) It shall come into force in such areas 1 and on such date 2 as the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different areas.
