( 1 ) The Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette , appoint an Overseeing Council for reviewing the work and performance of the Commission, for giving guidance and for providing policy guidelines for smooth and efficient functioning of the Commission. ( 2 ) The constitution of the Overseeing Council, its functions and duties shall be such as may be specified in such notification.
